My favourite London base, because it is a work spot and a hotel in one. The foyer is zoned for exactly how you want to work: a long communal table for getting your head down around other people, a softer zone of sofas and armchairs, and a hard-chairs-and-coffee-tables zone when you need to sit up and focus. Then there is a coffee shop, a lobby bar, Seed Library in the basement (a Mr Lyan cocktail bar) and Kaso on the roof. Everything under one roof, genuinely good rooms, and usually under £200 a night.
